In general, I believe the mortgage business is doing 'okay'. Don't get me wrong, it is not the heydays, but you can live doing it.

That's a good idea. We have are both a real estate company and mortgage company. It helps because getting a client is so hard at times, so you must make bread when the oven is hot.

Make sure you disclosure to the parties involve what you are doing. I would go as far as doing audio recordings and saving a copy on a CD to each file. This will help just in case someone decide that they have been wrong by you in someway for providing additional services. I have done is in the pass.

It's definitely a good idea but just make sure risk is properly covered with a risk premium.
